    Default Some ideas for future SEOW campaigns...

    Hi,
    In this document you can see my ideas for future seows. Each of these is planned to be made as historical. Yes, i know, it is impossible to make full historical thing in the game, but when we deduct game limitations, we should try to come as close as possible to historical starting positions. None of these have to end like it was in reality and "alternative history" is possible.

    For each campaign there is a number which represent priority of each player vote.
    Everyone can edit this document, add his name and put priorities. Also, there are free boxes to add your own ideas.
    This pool will be open for some time, and than campaign with lowest total number wins and goes into production.

    Any of these campaigns require at least 80 hours of work. If map is not existing, than add another 100 hours. Our current Gothic line campaign is going to last for 2 more months, so it is the right time to start thinking/doing something else.

    SEOW supports BAT?

    I mean that's great. But for me, it doesn't really run smoothly. How about VP-Mod?

    Default Alternative Mods to HSFX for SEOW

    Dear Fellow Pilots,

    by now there is a large number of great mods out there that provide nice features good old HSFX does not. For us, it is important however, that the mod is multiplayer friendly and provides sufficient performance. What follows is hence a list of mods that may be applicable here:

    1.) BAT (Currently V3.3 - Pathfinders)
    ------------------------------------
    --> Advantages:
    ----------------
    ---> Most diverse, containing literally everything mod related to IL2
    ---> Great additional features like independent toe brakes, advanced weapon release handling, improved graphics, tonnes of objects in MP
    ---> Easy installation with detailed description on SAS homepage (however, the package is HUGE ~80GB in total)
    ---> It is being developed and not dead like HSFX
    ---> Awesome flight model from what I have tested so far.
    ---> Although not recommended, it is mod friendly (I have a little JSGME custom mod with runs perfectly)
    ---> Not restricted to WW2 and early Jet era.
    ----------------
    --> Disadvantages:
    ----------------
    ---> Huge package (~80GB download but easy install)
    ---> Multiplayer capabilities are not sufficiently tested
    ---> May causes performance issues in bigger missions

    Install-Links:
    1.) BAT-Basic install V3.0 + Checkpoint Charlie V3.01 + Operation Sealion V3.1: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.p...c,53691.0.html
    2.) BAT-Angels High V3.2: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.p...c,56913.0.html
    3.) BAT-Path Finders V3.3: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.p...c,57475.0.html
    -----------------------------------------------------------------

    2.) VP-Modpack
    ------------------
    --> Advantages:
    ----------------
    ---> Visually absolutely stunning (Like BAT)
    ---> Great diversity of material and scenarios
    ---> Quite good performance online for small player numbers
    ---> Great flight model (just like in BAT)
    ---> Smaller Package (only ~60GB)
    ---> Easy to install
    ----------------
    --> Disadvantages:
    ----------------
    ---> Less diverse than BAT
    ---> Restricted to WW2
    ---> Missing some features like advanced weapon release and independent toe brakes.
    ---> Not tested for larger missions
    ---> No or very slow development

    -------------------------------

    3.) UP3RC4 for 4.12.2m:
    -----------------------
    I am currently downloading this mod, which is basically good old UP3 but for later versions of IL2 1946, such as 4.12.2m. Apparently, this mod is made for multiplayer gaming and hence its performance seems to be very stable and high. Also, the modpack is just 6 GB large.
    I will test the mod this week and send and update.

    the idea and think well but we must not forget that the SEOW system has been integrated into the hsfx and that a seow can perfectly function under hsfx

    My proposal was Operation Corskcrew 1943. This is the taken of Pantelleria island in central mediterranean sea, after the fall of African Axis force. Map is 1:1 with chance of begin mission in flight for Allied. Axis forces will provide high and low cap over the island, starting from Sicily or from the island, axis bomber/torpedo could try to sunk convoy closing to island. Allied should try to reduce enemy aaa and gun positions only with bombers heavy, medium and light.

    This would be a nice scenario for testing my idea of a new mission concept not based on SEOW.

    Which map is it in FMB Bigans?

    @Killer
    Seow is not a must, but other options takes away the automation and puts all, or at least the most, of the work to one person.

    Bigans, when this can be ready?
